Standard for Factory-Built Fireplace Systems
Also Known As:
The CAN ULC-S610-2018 standard outlines the requirements for factory-built fireplace systems that are capable of using solid fuels and are intended for supplementary heating in buildings. These fireplace systems consist of various components, including a fire chamber assembly, chimney sections, a roof assembly, and other associated parts.
It is important to note that these factory-built fireplace systems are not suitable for use with masonry chimneys. Additionally, the standard emphasizes that these fireplace systems should be installed in compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, the Installation Code for Solid-Fuel Burning Appliances and Equipment (CSA B365), or the applicable acts or regulations of the authority having jurisdiction.
