Live Working - Flexible Conductor Covers (Line Hoses) of Insulating Material
Also Known As:
The CAN ULC-61479-05 standard outlines guidelines for the use of insulating covers on electrical conductors to protect workers during live working and to prevent short circuits.
The standard provides five classes of conductor covers, labeled as class 0, class 1, class 2, class 3, and class 4, which have different electrical characteristics. It also includes six categories of conductor covers based on their composition and properties, such as acid resistance, oil resistance, extreme low or high temperature formulations, ozone resistance, and humid environment suitability.
Additionally, the standard specifies various styles of conductor covers, denoted as style A, style B, style C, style D, style E (figure 1), and style F, which vary in their construction characteristics. These styles provide options for different applications and requirements.
