The ULC-S627-00 standard applies to hand-fuelled solid-fuel fired space heaters used for residential heating. It includes radiant, convection, or forced-circulating type heaters. The standard specifically covers space heaters that have provisions for venting directly outdoors, outdoor-aired space heaters primarily installed in mobile homes, and space heaters that utilize catalytic combustion elements.
This third edition of the standard has been confirmed effective since February 2016, with no technical changes made to the standard at that time. It is important to note that the standard is only available in English.
