Standard EN SampleBurglary Resistant Electronic Combination Locks
Also Known As:
The ULC-S334-1998 (R2016) standard covers the requirements for electronic combination locks used for securing doors of safes, vaults, depository units, and other similar applications. The standard aims to test the ability of these locks to resist unauthorized opening for a specified period of time.
These requirements apply to electronic combination locks that are powered by electrical circuits or generate their own power. In cases where a power supply is used, it must comply with ULC-S318, which is the standard for power supplies for burglar alarm systems. If the electronic combination lock has a timelock feature or a time delay feature, it must comply with ULC-ORD-C887 (Timelocks) and ULC-S337 (Delayed-Action Timelocks), respectively.
It is important to note that the standard does not cover components and systems external to the electronic combination lock, which are necessary for the administration and operation of the locking system.
