CAN ULC-S703-09 (R2015) PDF Download

The CAN ULC-S703-09 (R2015) standard sets out requirements for treated wood-based cellulose fiber insulation materials intended for use in thermal insulation in new and existing buildings. The standard encompasses a temperature range of -60 °C to 90 °C.

The standard includes general requirements for the material, as well as additional requirements specific to different types of cellulose fiber insulation. It outlines the methods used to measure and describe the properties of the materials, products, or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions. However, it does not assess the fire hazard or fire risk of these materials and products under actual fire conditions.

The second edition of this standard was initially published in 2009 and reaffirmed in 2015. The only addition made in the reaffirmed edition is the inclusion of safety and warning markings in both English and French.
