It is important to note that UL 1564 does not cover battery chargers used in marine applications, fire protection signaling service, household appliances, automotive battery chargers, battery chargers for use with centrifugal fire pumps driven by internal combustion engines, or any other appliances or systems where a battery charger is used.

Additionally, the standard states that if a battery charger is not a complete assembly and relies on installation in an end product to comply with the requirements, it must be investigated under both UL 1564 and the standard for the end product. This ensures that the charger meets the necessary safety requirements when installed in its intended application.
