NFPA 418: Standard for Heliports is a crucial standard that provides provisions for fire protection and life safety in heliports. Additionally, new requirements for manual controls of foam protection systems have been included to ensure the safe initiation and cessation of fire-fighting foam discharge. The standard also features provisions for a longer foam discharge duration to provide sufficient fire protection until the fire service responds.
