Test methods have been revised to align more closely with operational parameters, and additional tests have been added to assess hand-glove insertion/reinsertion and the minimum field of vision.

Footwear requirements have been modified to comply with the ASTM F2413 specification for protective footwear, offering more choices for end users. Separate criteria for hoods and elastomeric interface materials have been included, and the optional test for reporting the breathability of ensemble garment materials now includes evaporative resistance. The organization and content of the technical data package have been standardized across the chemical protective clothing standards to provide enhanced clarity and facilitate informed decision-making for operators.
