Indoor air - Part 25: Determination of the emission of semi-volatile organic compounds by building products - Micro-chamber method
Also Known As:
ISO 16000-25:2011 is a standard that outlines a testing method for measuring the emission of semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) from building products using a micro-chamber. The aim of this standard is to determine the specific emission rate of SVOCs from newly produced building materials or furnishings under defined climate conditions. The method can also be applied to aged products if necessary.
This standard covers a wide range of materials including board materials, wallpapers, flooring materials, insulation materials, adhesives, paints, and their combinations. ISO 16000-11 provides guidelines for the sampling, transport, and storage of materials to be tested, as well as the preparation of test specimens. The air sampling and analytical methods for the determination of SVOCs are specified in ISO 16000-6 and ISO 16017-1.
The standard also includes information on an example of a micro-chamber, which is used in the testing process.
