Cleanrooms and Associated Controlled Environments - Part 2: Monitoring to Provide Evidence of Cleanroom Performance Related to Air Cleanliness by Particle Concentration
Also Known As:
ISO 14644-2:2015 is a standard that outlines the requirements for monitoring the performance of cleanrooms and controlled environments with regards to air cleanliness by particle concentration. The standard establishes a minimum set of criteria for a monitoring plan that measures or affects the concentration of airborne particles.
It is important to note that ISO 14644-2:2015 specifically focuses on particle concentration and does not cover other aspects such as vibration or general maintenance of the engineering systems. Additionally, the standard only addresses particle populations within the specified particle-size range of 0.1 µm to 5 µm. The monitoring of ultrafine particles, which are particles smaller than 0.1 µm, will be addressed separately in another standard.
By implementing ISO 14644-2:2015, organizations can ensure that their cleanrooms and controlled environments meet the necessary air cleanliness standards by regularly monitoring and measuring particle concentration levels. This helps provide evidence of the cleanroom’s performance and ensures a controlled and clean environment for critical processes.
