Water quality - Determination of arsenic and antimony - Part 1: Method using hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS)
Also Known As:
ISO 17378-1:2014 standard outlines a method for the analysis of arsenic and antimony in various water sources including drinking water, surface water, ground water, and rain water. The standard provides a linear application range from 0.02 µg/l to 100 µg/l, with the option for samples exceeding this range to be analyzed after appropriate dilution.
It should be noted that ISO 17378-1:2014 is not applicable for the analysis of sea water, although it can be used for such samples if a validated standard additions approach is utilized. The method described in the standard is not designed to detect organo-arsenic or organo-antimony compounds.
The sensitivity of the method, as defined in ISO 17378-1:2014, is dependent on the specific operating conditions selected for the analysis.
