Environmental Management - Environmental Performance Evaluation - Guidelines
Also Known As:
The DIN EN ISO 14031 standard provides guidelines for the design and implementation of environmental performance evaluation (EPE) within an organization. This standard is applicable to all types of organizations, regardless of their size, location, or complexity. However, it does not establish specific environmental performance levels, nor is it intended to be used for certification or registration purposes.
The main purpose of this standard is to offer guidance on how to conduct EPE to support an organization's own approach to environmental management. This includes commitments to comply with legal and other requirements, prevent pollution, and achieve continual improvement. The guidelines provided in the standard can be used selectively by organizations to meet their specific environmental management objectives and targets.
