The DIN EN 81-58 standard outlines the method of testing the fire resistance of lift landing doors. This standard is applicable to all types of lift landing doors used as access points to lifts in buildings, with the aim of preventing the spread of fire through the lift shaft.
The standard specifies a procedure for assessing the fire resistance of landing doors by measuring their integrity, and optionally, radiation and thermal insulation. It does not include any specific requirements for mechanical conditioning of the specimen before the test, as these are addressed in the relevant product standard.
